We met while playing in various professional ensembles, including Prima La Musica and The Antwerp Philharmonic Orchestra, formerly known as Il Novecento.
Together, we toured across many European countries and accompanied international artists such as Meat Loaf, Anastacia, Simply Red, Céline Dion, Toto, Simple Minds, James Morrison, Andrea Bocelli, Amy MacDonald, Ike Turner, Roxette, Björk, James Brown, and many more.
We also had the pleasure of working with a host of Belgian musicians, including Clouseau, Axelle Red, Metejoor, Will Tura, Toots Thielemans, Sandra Kim, Willy Sommers, Regi, Bart Peeters, ...
When Aurélie moved to Gooik for love—right in Saskia’s backyard—the idea to form a duo was born. The sounds of harp and violin complement each other beautifully.

Our biography in a nutshell:
Saskia Swalus
I was born in Halle, where I took my first steps in the world of music. At the age of 7, I began violin lessons at the local academy with Mr. Jules Cocquyt. I continued my studies at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven, under Dirk Lippens and Guido De Neve. Meanwhile, I had the opportunity to perform with various orchestras, touring in Mallorca, Germany, Japan, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, and more. I currently teach at the Brussels Capital Academy of the Arts.
Aurelie Guerreiro Viegas
I'm originally from Walloon Brabant and began harp lessons with Brigitte Pichal at the academy of Court-Saint-Etienne. Later, I studied at IMEP in Namur and then at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, where I earned both my master's and postgraduate degrees with Sophie Hallynck, in harp and chamber music.
I love playing in orchestras as well as smaller ensembles. You’ll find me with Duo and Quadro Viegas (on historical instruments) and in the modern Flanders Harp Quartet.
I currently teach at the academies of Gooik and Mechelen Conservatory.
